We beat the Rams (barely)

November 28, 2007 at 9:15 pm (Uncategorized)

This week Mike Holmgren returned to his roots and had the Hawks do more passing. It was a crappy first quarter, but the Seahawks ended up winning 24-19. There were three scores by the Rams in the first quarter, and at one point we were down 17 points! But we rallied: Matt Hassselbeck was 21-of-38 for 249 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the Hawks. Mo Morris, subbing for the injured Shaun Aleexander, carried 16 times for 79 yards, and Deion Branch had five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. Rookie Josh Wilson returned a first-quarter kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown.

The game started at 10 am so I didn’t actually go anywhere to watch it-I just kept it on while I was doing mounds of homework :-) . I like what I saw from the Hawks though, it might not of been pretty-but we found a way to win. Next weeks game is vs. the Eagles. Which I am scared about since they came really close to beating the Patriots who are 11-0! It will be a good game.

I finally got to go to a game!

November 14, 2007 at 9:02 pm (Uncategorized)

My friend Lynne got me, my sister, and our friend Emily tickets to Monday Night Football a Quest Field. The Seahawks played the 49ers and beat them soundly 24-0! Our seats were in the nosebleed section, so we decided at halftime to see if we could sneak in to get better seats. Lynne and Emily were very motivated and got down near the field. My sister and I snuck in right behind the endzone and got AWESOME seats too. It was a great night-I wish I had season tickets because it was SO much fun. The 49ers are an awful team so getting the win wasn’t that big of a surprise-but it was still exciting. Mo Morris did great, and Matt was passing more…I hope they keep it up! Next week

Go Hawks!

Tough loss to the Browns in overtime.

November 7, 2007 at 7:16 pm (Uncategorized)

Well I think it may be time to change the game plan. The running game ISN’T working as well as it USED to OBVIOUSLY…if all we needed was a few INCHES to WIN in overtime! Grrr. What is Mike Holmgren thinking? He is using the same  plays over and over. Basically 1st play is throwing downfield, then sub in Alexander who runs it into a pile of lineman over and over. And then repeat repeat repeat. I think other teams may be picking up on it if I AM! Holmgren is on his way out and just isn’t doing well. It is really unfair and sad because this team has a lot of talent and could be AWESOME if coached right. That is my view.

We lost 33-30 in overtime to the Browns. At one point it seemed like Matt Hasselbeck got in the endzone (on 3d and 8th in OT)-but after review he was just short. On fourth and inches, Morris tried to run it, but was stopped short. Eventually the Browns made some plays culminating in a field goal-and we lost for the fourth time this season. Hopefully next week we can AT LEAST beat the 49ers and get to 5-4.

*Another note-the Patriots-Colts game was amazing! Pat’s won and Peyton cried!

 * Oooh…more good news…I AM GOING TO MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL next week! My friend Lynne got tickets to the 49ers-Hawks game @ Quest Field and I get to go-FOR FREE! Yay-am so excited! Pics to follow!

Player of the Week: Matt Hasselbeck-Matt went 30-of-47 for 318 yards and threw two TD passes.
